Usher, Tyrese & More Attend 2016 UNCF Mayor’s Ball – Over $1 Million Raised

Saturday evening I attended the Annual UNCF 2016 Atlanta Mayor’s Masked Ball. Many of Atlanta’s ‘Who’s Who’ attended the annual fundraising gala, held at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta, which is known to be the premier social event of the holiday season.

Started 33 years ago by former Mayor Andrew Young and Billye S. Aaron, the Ball is hosted by the city’s current Mayor and is largely supported by local corporate and civic entities. A much anticipated holiday event that raises unrestricted dollars for UNCF’s support for local students, the Ball attracts a diverse array of attendees from across the metropolitan area, including local celebrities, dignitaries, civic and elected officials.

This year the ball raised over a million dollars. Gotta love black excellence in ATL! Shout out to Tyrese, Usher, Future and Jeezy for donating $25,000 each to UNCF for scholarships.

The Ball featured a VIP masked award reception, silent holiday auction, red carpet parade of stars and dignitaries, elegant dining, parade of masks, dancing and live entertainment by percussionist and recording artist Sheila E.

Everyone knows this is the Atlanta gala of the year! Check out the pics below and video from the “After The Mayor’s Ball” soiree:
