'Creed' Stars Michael B. Jordan And Tessa Thompson Join Writer/Director Ryan Coogler For A Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Metro Atlanta Mural Unveiling

Yesterday I was invited to the screening of ‘Creed’ and an inspirational mural dedication from the cast to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s (BBSS).

In conjunction with Warner Bros. digital campaign entitled “#IFightFor,” the stars and talent behind the motion picture “Creed” honored Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s (BBSS) with a personalized message entitled “I Fight For a Big Future” with a $5,000 donation to their mentoring program, and mural dedication designed by Shepard Fairey’s design studio, Studio Number One. Shepard Fairey is also known for the “Yes We Can” image that Barack Obama used during his campaign.

About CREED: Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. With Rocky in his corner, it isn’t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title…but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring?

Creed is definitely the “Rocky” for this generation. The last time I interviewed Michael was earlier this year for Fantastic Four. I asked him how did he choose his roles, since he has so many projects pitched to him. He said, “I look for films with a message. I’m actually excited about my next one which is Creed, highlighting the life of Apollo Creed’s son.” And now we’re here. All the elements of perseverance, dedication, forgiveness, self worth, love and so much more are there. It’s a must see for the family. Thanks again Warner Brothers for the invite!
