You’ve been on a hiatus. Tell me about the moment you decided to rededicate your life to Christ. In 2005 I was watching BET’s Celebration of Gospel. Tonex was singing his song, ‘Lord Make Me Over’. I immediately dropped to my knees and said, “Lord, that’s exactly what I need You to do! I’m going to let go of everything. I joined a church, filled myself with the Word, and started living according to His will, not mine.
What was your lowest point? When my last cd didn’t do well. I would drink all day every day. I’d smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day. Even when I tried to quit smoking, I would go back to the trash can and try to smoke them again!
What was your highest point: This moment right here! Also when I finally felt God’s spirit and heard his voice for the first time.
